Arrival at Mont Fleur

Finally the day has arrived. I will never get enough of the mountains and the rest of this part of the Western Cape - what a beautiful country we have! Mont Fleur is an excellent venue, and surrounded by majestic mountains. We were warmly welcomed by all individual staff members.

Activity: We introduced ourselves to one another by means of a "speed dating" activity. We had to write something about ourselves on an A3 piece of paper and hang it around our necks (things we want to achieve on personal and professional level, networks, interests). We had 3 minutes to share info with a fellow delegate, and in the end all rotated amongst one another and were introduced to each other. A nice ice breaker which we can definitely use in other ways back at work as well as for workshops/training etc. Thanks Colin and Karen!

It was great to catch up with former colleagues from the University of Pretoria, and meet our colleagues from Rhodes and the University of Johannesburg.

Mimi and I went jogging this morning - or rather: Mimi jogged most of the time and I walked most of the time! :) Got to get that list ready of expectations I have for this academy and post it this morning ....
