Academia.edu

Hi,

One good thing about having a family member in the same industry but on a different continent is that we can share sites and other interesting snippets which allow us both to follow library and related trends locally and in Europe. I am sure that some of you might be aware of this already and might even have mentioned this in the blog or elsewhere, but I thought I have to share this especially for those of us embarking on our very own and first research projects soon.

Academia.edu is the latest link supplied to my by my brother (an information specialist in the Netherlands). The application allows a person to look at what is being researched within specific areas of interest, as well as to track the work of those individual researchers whose work you find of interest and/or specific relevance to your own areas of research. The application also allows you to submit papers, articles etc. which you have written. There are currently more than 940 people listing Library Science as a research interest. Worth a look!
